Version 1210 of the Windows Update Client has been released on 27 July 2013, with the most recent versions available at the time of writing (version 1607 dated August 7th 2018).
The present invention relates to a medium transporting apparatus, and more particularly to a medium transporting apparatus which transports a recording medium such as a recording paper, an OHP sheet, and the like.
Conventionally, various paper feeding apparatuses of the type in which a friction pad, a metal plate, or a rubber pad is pressed against a recording medium and a drive force of a motor is transmitted to the recording medium have been used for the recording media such as a recording paper, an OHP sheet, and the like.
However, in these conventional medium transporting apparatuses, the friction pad, the metal plate, and the rubber pad are provided on the drive force transmission side of the recording medium, i.e., the friction pad, the metal plate, and the rubber pad are located on the drive force transmission side of the recording medium and the recording medium is contacted with these pads. Thus, the recording medium is transported with the drive force applied from these pads to the recording medium. Accordingly, there is a problem in that the drive force is transmitted to the recording medium while the recording medium is held down by the drive force.
In order to solve the problems described above, there is a method of causing the drive force to act directly on the recording medium. As one example of a conventional apparatus which is capable of solving the problems described above, a medium transporting apparatus in which a drive force transmission plate which has a plurality of projections projecting therefrom in a radial direction and a drive force applying plate which has a plurality of projections projecting therefrom in a radial direction are brought into contact with each other is disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 63-145085.
In addition, in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 63-145085, when the drive force is applied, the drive force applying plate is brought into contact with the drive force transmission plate through the projections of the drive force transmission plate. Thus, the drive force is directly applied to the recording medium and the recording medium is held down by the drive force. Accordingly, there is no concern that the recording medium will be held down by the drive force.
